How the layout is calculated
The sheet preview uses these formulas to lay out labels at physical scale:
- Label count (N) = columns (C) × rows (R)
- Sheet area used = C × R × label_width × label_height (in²)
- Printable area = 8.5 in × 11 in = 93.5 in² (US Letter)
- Coverage % = (Sheet area used ÷ Printable area) × 100
Example — 30-up (3 × 10, each 2.625 in × 1 in): area used = 3 × 10 × 2.625 × 1 = 78.75 in². Coverage = 78.75 ÷ 93.5 × 100 = 84.2%. Sheet margins and gutters account for the remainder.
